The San Diego Padres "are more of a factor than" the Los Angeles Dodgers for Miami Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto , according to Jon Morosi of MLB Network.Later, Joe Frisaro of reported talks are in "advanced stages" and that the Cincinnati Reds and Atlanta Braves are also "still in the mix."The 27-year-old backstop had 21 home runs and 74 RBI while slashing .277/.340/.484 in 125 games last season. A 2018 All-Star, Realmuto isn't eligible to become an unrestricted free agent until 2021, per Spotrac. However, the Marlins are in the middle of a massive rebuilding project that started last year when the team dealt players from a core that included 2017 National League MVP Giancarlo Stanton and 2018 NL MVP Christian Yelich. Realmuto could be the next name on the move. He's seemingly been connected with the entire league, as noted by this Rotoworld rundown of Realmuto 2018 and 2019 news and rumors. That likely makes the question "when" and not "if" he's dealt, although the answer is unclear given the sparse offseason movement around the league.Still, Realmuto would be a good fit on the Padres. San Diego needs hitting desperately after finishing 12th in the National League in home runs and 13th in batting average last season. The Padres also have a stacked farm system with numerous high-potential pitchers (e.g. southpaw MacKenzie Gore, who ranks 13th on the MLB Pipeline of the top 100 prospects in the bigs). Realmuto could be a steady veteran presence for those players as they acclimate into the league.Furthermore Cheslor Cuthbert Jersey , San Diego looks like it's ready to spend a lot of money, according to a report from Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune. In sum, refinanced debt has cleared up room for the Padres to be more aggressive on the trade and free-agent markets.L.A. needs a replacement for Yasmani Grandal, who signed a one-year deal with the Brewers. And Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report ranked its farm system eighth, so there's potential for the Dodgers to put together an attractive offer for Realmuto. But the Padres' overloaded farm system (which Reuter ranked No. 1) puts them in a better position to deal with the rebuilding Marlins, who are looking to build from the ground up. MIAMI (AP) — Miami Marlins president of baseball operations Michael Hill dismissed talk about trading J.T. Realmuto with a joke Friday, noting the All-Star catcher may well be in a new uniform next year because there are rumors about the team changing its logo.Realmuto’s agent, Jeff Berry, predicted this week that his client will be with a different team by spring training.“Agents can say whatever they want to say Brian Flynn Jersey ,” Hill said. “J.T. knows how we feel about him.”But Hill declined to say whether Realmuto informed the Marlins he won’t sign a long-term contract with them, as Berry said.“Any conversations we have with our players are going to stay in house,” Hill said. And Hill acknowledged the possibility of tempting trade offers, with some likely to come during next week’s general manager meetings in Carlsbad, California.“J.T. is obviously a very talented player,” Hill said. “I would expect there will be interest in a lot of our talented players. It’s our job to go there with an open mind of how we improve.”Realmuto, 27, was a first-time All-Star team this year and had 21 homers and 74 RBIs, both career highs Abraham Almonte Jersey , while batting .277. He had a $2.9 million salary after losing in arbitration, and is eligible for arbitration this winter and again following the 2019 season. After losing 98 games and finishing last in the majors in runs, the Marlins have made a hitting upgrade their priority, Hill said.“We like where we’re at from a pitching-depth standpoint,” he said. “But we need to score more runs and improve our offense, and I think that will be a big part of the conversations we have next week.”

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Houston Astros may be defending more than their World Series title. The champions are under scrutiny after Cleveland filed a complaint to Major League Baseball about a man associated with Houston attempting to film in the Indians’ dugout during Game 3 of the AL Division Series last week.During the Astros’ series-clinching win on Oct. 8 at Progressive Field in Cleveland Chris Sale Jersey , a man with a cellphone standing by the photographer’s pit was removed “several times” by security personnel, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday night. The man’s credential was requested by Houston, according to the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.MLB also says it is aware of a report by Metro Boston that a man claiming to be an Astros employee was removed from a credentialed area near the Boston Red Sox dugout during the AL Championship Series opener at Fenway Park. The Red Sox dropped the series opener but have won the past two to take a 2-1 lead.In a statement, MLB said the matter “will be handled internally” and offered no other details. While it’s yet to be proven if the Astros were doing anything illegal, the two incidents have raised further questions about the use of electronic equipment during games and whether Houston has been cheating.According to the Metro report, which cited multiple security sources who were on the scene, a man was removed during the third inning of Game 1 on Saturday night at Fenway Park but allowed to stay in the ballpark after another Astros staffer intervened. The report said the man had a small camera and was texting frequently, but did not have a media credential.Houston manager AJ Hinch and Red Sox manager Alex Cora both said after Boston’s 8-2 win Tuesday night in Houston they had heard about the alleged incident.“I’m aware of something going on Steven Wright Jersey , but I haven’t been briefed,” Hinch said. “I’m worried about the game.”Cora said he has been concerned throughout the season about Red Sox signs being stolen.“So I mean we do a good job changing sequences and paying attention to details. And we don’t get caught up on the whole paranoia thing of the signs,” he said. “We try to slow it down. If we feel there’s something going on we switch the signs.”When asked if he felt like anything was going on the first two ALCS games at Fenway Park, Cora responded, “No, I don’t.”This isn’t the first time the Astros have been suspected of cheating.Earlier this season, Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer intimated on Twitter that Houston’s pitchers may have been using banned substances to improve the spin on their pitches. Bauer didn’t provide any specifics but his insinuations triggered a social-media storm, which included responses from several Astros players, including pitchers Lance McCullers Jr. and Collin McHugh. The Indians were swept by the Astros Tyler Thornburg Jersey , who after winning twice at home, rolled to an 11-3 win in Game 3. Cleveland was eliminated in the first round for the second year in a row as the AL Central champions batted just .144 as a team and some of the club’s top hitters, including All-Star second baseman Jose Ramirez, had brutal series. Ramirez went hitless in 11 at-bats.Following the game, center fielder Jason Kipnis was critical of his team’s performance and said he felt the Indians were overmatched.“We were just outplayed,” Kipnis said. “I wish it weren’t that simple. It just seems from top to bottom we were out-scouted, out-pitched, out-coached a little bit. They really did just a fantastic job over there of being ready and prepared before the series. I don’t think we were underprepared, they just went out and executed and played the way you need to play to win.” Scott Taetsch/Getty ImagesThe San Francisco Giants recently joined the Bryce Harper sweepstakes and left their meeting with the 2015 National League MVP "very impressed ," according to Jon Heyman of Fancred. That comes after San Franciscopresident of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi let it be known the team has serious interest in the outfielder."There's obviously mutual interest on both sides, so we thought it made sense to get together," Zaidi said, according toUSA Today'sJesse Yomtov. "We had a good conversation over a few hours and he's obviously got a lot of suitors and a lot of interest. He's going to have some decisions to make, but again I think it's fair to say that was an expression of our interest level to make the trip out there and meet with him."Of course, it would be foolish for a franchise to not want a player of Harper's caliber on its roster.Harper hit .249/.393/.496 with 34 home runs, 34 doubles and 100 RBI in 2018. While his average may have been lower than normal, he finished the season strong by hitting .300 after the All-Star break. That second-half tear was ignited by an unforgettable performance in the 2018 Home Run Derby in front of the hometown crowd in the nation's capital:Along with an MVP award and a Derby title, Harper has earnedsix All-Star selections Roger Clemens Jersey , the 2012 NL Rookie of the Year award and a 2015 NL Silver Slugger. That's quite the resumend he's only 26.Meanwhile, San Francisco has missed out on the postseason in back-to-back years and won just 73 games in 2018. The offenseranked29th both in runs scored and in home runs. With spring training right around the corner, the Giants' outfield isshaping upto consist ofChris Shaw,Steven Duggar and Austin Slater.San Francisco may have to engage in a bidding war if it wants Harper. The Athletic'sKen Rosenthalreported on Friday that Harper is seeking $300 million, with the Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres among the teams also interested.Bob NightengaleofUSA Todayreported in November that Harper had rejected a 10-year, $300 million offer from the Washington Nationals in September.

Cowboys defense is last in the NFL in turnovers Authentic Antwaun Woods Jersey , only defense yet to record an interception Kris Richard has been a huge point of discussion, and praise, for the Dallas Cowboys defense. Bringing in part of the braintrust behind Seattle’s famous Legion of Boom ignited confidence that he could build a similarly strong secondary in Big D. With a mind like Kris Richard guiding the likes of Chidobe Awuzie, Byron Jones, and friends Youth Taco Charlton Jersey , surely things were going to get better, right?Four games in the Cowboys defense has definitely played to a higher level, that even includes the secondary. Last week Byron Jones was graded as the best cornerback in the NFL through three full weeks of the season which was a testament to exactly what Richard has done. To be clear, the Cowboys defense is playing very well. DeMarcus Lawrence just ripped off three sacks against the Detroit Lions and has 20 sacks over his last 20 games. That puts him in elite company. What about turnovers, though?Turnovers are game-changing plays in football. They turn the direction a game is going and serve as a huge boost of momentum for a particular team’s cause. We all know this. The Dallas Cowboys have two total turnovers this season through four games. This doesn’t change that their defense is playing well , but it’s absolutely worth noting. What should also be noted is that both turnovers forced by the Cowboys have been fumbles. Through Week 4 the Dallas Cowboys are last in the NFL in forced turnovers and the only defense in the league without an interception on the season. That’s not ideal, especially with a secondary many have a lot of faith in and the Hot Boyz wreaking havoc up front.Dallas entered Monday night tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for last in the NFL when it comes to turnovers. Thanks to an insane Eric Murray interception off of Case Keenum, KC surged past the Cowboys and Dallas sits in last all by themselves. It was a pretty sweet interception, by the way.The Cowboys finished second in turnovers after the 2014 season, but ever since then they’ve been in the bottom half season after season. It’s not a good situation to be in.There’s no need to panic about the lack of turnovers or a single interception at this point on the season Connor Williams Jersey , but this trend cannot continue. The Cowboys don’t have an offense that’s capable of winning games week after week, they’re going to need turnovers for opportunities to score points if they want to do some serious damage in the season’s final three quarters. This is largely how they were so successful four years ago.Hopefully we’ve got an interception to celebrate a week from now. Or any kind of turnover. We’ll take whatever we can get at this point. Coach Jason Garrett stepped up to the podium on Thursday and addressed the media about the state of the Cowboys heading into their game with the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. (All Garrett answers are paraphrased and not actual quotes).Matt Ryan is a great playerJason Garrett began the day discussing how great of a quarterback Matt Ryan is. He noted he’s a prolific passer, he can carry the burden alone if the run games is failing, he uses different receivers, just goes about it the right way.Garrett was full of praise for Ryan. 4-5 is plenty motivation for everyoneEzekiel Elliott mentioned on Wednesday that the Cowboys have a lot of motivation in the form of their record. Jason Garrett emphasized this noting that they need to stay locked in the moment to play their best.Tyron Smith had spasms waking up on WednesdayGarrett did say that Smith is moving around better on Thursday but that it was a surprise and they had anticipated him practicing on Wednesday. He noted his back hasn’t been an issue this year until this point. Coaches and players have responded well to the Marc Colombo moveThat’s all Jason Garrett wanted to say about that.Leighton Vander Esch is “very committed” One of the things that the Cowboys loved most about LVE through the draft process is how committed he is to preparation Authentic Joe Looney Jersey , according to Jason Garrett. The head coach also talked about how Sean Lee serves as a great example for Vander Esch every day and that all of that has helped make for a great environment. He noted that Lee also helps the game of Jaylon Smith.Byron Jones is playing cornerback “the right way”One of the stars of the season for the Cowboys has been Byron Jones at cornerback. Jason Garrett emphasized that Jones has done a great job at everything they’ve asked him to do so far. He said the Cowboys play a lot of single-high safety and that whether they are in man or zone Jones does a good job of guarding his man, that he’s always around the ball. The biggest thing with Connor Williams is getting him healthyAsked if there was a competition at left guard, Jason Garrett kept it close to the vest. He said the biggest thing for the rookie left guard is simply to get healthy right now.Update on the defensive line injuriesDaniel Ross, David Irving, and Taco Charlton won’t do very much today Youth Kavon Frazier Jersey , Antwaun Woods either, hopefully Maliek Collins can do a little more today. He noted that this has altered the practice routine as those guys also sometimes pull reps on the scout team. He said they’ve had to alternate in some offensive linemen to perform those reps and have had to dial down the intensity a bit. Cowboys are feeling good about their receiversJason Garrett took some time to give some props to every single Cowboys receiver, including Noah Brown and Lance Lenoir. It feels like things are finally settling in to a comfortable degree which is partly why the Cowboys have had success lately.Jourdan Lewis has a lot of talentThe Cowboys understand that Jourdan Lewis has a lot of elements to his game which is why they’ve experimented with him on offense. Jason Garrett even went back to what Jourdan did at high school to reference the confidence they’ve had in him for a while. NFL Outlet

Jason Garrett's Dallas Cowboys and Jay Gruden's Washington Redskins have been the very definition of mediocre as the NFC East teams resume their rivalry. The Cowboys are 3-3 Cheap Christian Kirk Jersey , while the Redskins head into Sunday's home game leading the so-so NFC East at 3-2 and with an 18-18-1 mark since the start of the 2016 season.Neither club has managed to win two games in a row in 2018. Neither has dropped two in a row, either. They just keep alternating W's and L's.Something has to give, because both are coming off victories."It's been a minute since I've had back-to-back wins," Redskins left tackle Trent Williams said. "It's very important for this team, for the confidence of this team."The Cowboys look at it the same way, and they are well aware of the disparity between how they perform when at home (3-0) and away (0-3).Garrett and Gruden have been criticized for various flaws, but both might have earned some breathing room with what happened in Week 6 against opponents who entered with winning records and strengths that would seem to be trouble for the weaknesses exhibited by Dallas and Washington.Having been embarrassed by Drew Brees just six days earlier, then forced to deal with Cam Newton and a Carolina offense coming off a pair of 30-point outings, the Redskins relied on their defense to beat the Panthers 23-17. Up against a talented Jacksonville Jaguars defense, and coming off a 16-point effort, Dak Prescott led the offensively challenged Cowboys to a surprising 40-7 triumph."I've said it before," said running back Ezekiel Elliott, who is second in the NFL in rushing with 586 yards. "If we don't build on it, everything we did last week really means nothing."Here are some things to know about the Cowboys and Redskins:SCHEDULING BREAKSThe Redskins do not play a team the rest of the way that currently has a record above .500. Their opponents' combined mark, including Dallas, is 27-38, a .415 winning percentage. Dallas' slate is not much tougher, although it does have to play New Orleans, which is 4-1. Still, the foes lined up on the Cowboys' remaining schedule began this week at 25-31, a .446 winning percentage.WHAT'S THE POINT?The Redskins and Cowboys are having trouble putting up points. They both rank among the 10 lowest-scoring teams, with Washington at 21.2 per game, and Dallas 20.5. The Cowboys' number plummets to 12.3 on the road.MR. SMITH IN WASHINGTONAlex Smith hardly has been a solution at QB for the Redskins, and Gruden was rather pointed in discussing his new guy's play. Smith's passer rating of 91.9 is barely ahead of the much-maligned Eli Manning's 90.9. "There are some things we've got to clean up. Get his eyes in certain progressions a little bit quicker and maybe get off some a little bit quicker," Gruden said about Smith. "Sometimes he hangs on too long, giving guys too much of a chance , where he needs get off of them, get to the next guy."RUNNING DAKRunning isn't anything new for Dallas QB Dak Prescott; it just seems more important with the Cowboys learning to live without Jason Witten and Dez Bryant in the passing game. The 2016 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year ran for a career-best 82 yards last week; Roger Staubach, with 90 in 1971, is the only Cowboys quarterback who gained more on the ground in a game. The Cowboys are using more zone read, playing off the strengths of Elliott."Some teams are going to make him hand the ball off; some teams are going to make him keep it," Elliott said about Prescott. "It just depends on what the defense shows you."Sunday's outcome could hinge on Dallas' run game — averaging 147.5 yards per game, No. 2 in the league — vs. Washington's run defense, which allows 90.2 per game.YOUNG 'BACKERSTwo-time Pro Bowl linebacker Sean Lee could miss a fourth consecutive game with a hamstring injury, but for the first time in several years, the Cowboys feel as if they have adequate replacements. Leighton Vander Esch leads the team with 60 tackles, and middle linebacker Jaylon Smith has 57.Nobody else has more than 35. Vander Esch is a rookie first-round draft pick from Boise State, where he was a walk-on. Smith was a second-rounder in 2016 after a devastating knee injury in his final game at Notre Dame."Each of those guys, they are playing more snaps," Garrett said. "They are seeing these different situations. They are becoming more confident football players."AP Pro Football Writer Schuyler Dixon in Frisco, Texas, and AP Sports Writer Stephen Whyno in Ashburn, Va., contributed to this report. The chorus of voices that want Scott Linehan to lose his job as offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys has remained loud. The 7-1 stretch run to secure the NFC East crown and a home field game to start the playoffs is seen, by some, as more despite him than because of him. No matter how the playoffs go for the Cowboys, many still believe the team would be better off without him.I think the process of cutting those ties may have already started.Let me be perfectly clear. This is an opinion piece. It is based on personal observation, some information and hints dropped elsewhere, and is absolutely colored by my own thoughts on the OC. But there is an interesting picture that emerged during the win over the New York Giants that has just been reinforced by some things since. Dallas used a completely different offensive plan to win the regular season finale from what we had seen in the fifteen prior games. Part of that was the absence of Ezekiel Elliott as he rested for the game against the Seattle Seahawks. Linehan bases his scheme on the run game to set everything else up while attempting to beat the opposing defense into submission. Without Elliott, the alternatives were to just try the same with Rod Smith and Darius Jackson, or do an about face and put the offense on Dak Prescott and the passing game. Given Prescott’s rather impressive performance, it certainly looks like door number two was chosen. This was the second-best total yardage of his career at 387 Dallas Cowboys T-Shirt , and just the fourth time he has exceeded 300 yards. Only the overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this season was greater. It also was a career best in passing touchdowns with four. And his running ability was not a factor. This was all on his arm, including the spectacular fourth-and-fifteen touchdown throw to Cole Beasley that won the game.It wasn’t just the volume of his output. It was how he did it. Look at this eye-opening tweet. To me, at least, this was the most important bit of evidence that this was not the Cowboys attack we had seen to that point. All season, Prescott had avoided throwing to the middle of the field like it was lava. Let me offer the opinion that he did so because he was told to. Linehan tends to conservatism and part of that is avoiding turning the ball over. That part of the field is a place where interceptions are more likely, because defensive backs can move into it from both directions. Linebackers also live there. That complicates things for the passer, who has more he has to avoid. Indications have been that there is a certain lack of trust in Prescott’s ability to make those reads and throws, so they were simply off the table. That helps protect the ball, but it gives up a significant part of the field, limiting the team’s options without the defense really doing anything to cause it.Against the Giants, it was time to pull up a chair at that part of the table and dig in. The result was a career day for Blake Jarwin, as he had by far his best performance and was acknowledged with NFC Offensive Player of the Week recognition - the first tight end from Dallas to be selected for that since the award was founded four decades ago. More subtly, that game also saw Beasley re-establish his reputation as the most clutch receiver on the team. In addition to the game-winning, one-knee-down grab, he caught all six targets for a total of 94 yards and one each key third-down and fourth-down conversion besides the TD. As mentioned, not having Elliott on the field was one reason to pivot to the passing game as the way to move the ball, but the overall situation also was important. It was, as mentioned endlessly leading up to it, a meaningless game. Dallas was locked into the fourth seed, and the decision to rest Elliott, Tyron Smith, and Zack Martin reflected this. But since it was meaningless, it was also the perfect time to experiment with something different. If the move to throwing the ball, especially into a mostly unused part of the field and to a player like Jarwin who had been less than impressive to date, did not work out, no harm was really done. But it worked. And brought another real benefit. Now the Seahawks have something very new to plan for. Will the Cowboys revert back to their Zeke-centric approach? If they do Dallas Cowboys Hats , and it works, fine. But if it falters, they have an effective adjustment ready, one they just got to work on in real game conditions against a decent passing defense. The Giants yielded 7.6 yards per attempt last season, just behind Seattle’s 7.5. And they gave up 24 touchdowns through the air, where the Seahawks surrendered 26. Those are close, and New York was better at intercepting the ball, with a 16 to 12 advantage over Seattle. It is hard to imagine a better time to successfully roll out something that new than the last game before the playoffs. It was both a pragmatic and daring approach. Both of those are not exactly traits that Linehan has exhibited. He has at times seemed very stubborn about doing what he is comfortable with even when it isn’t working, and has long carried a label of being too conservative. The argument about whether things like the red zone woes are due to coaching, play-calling, or execution is still valid, but it is reasonable to say at least part of the issue falls squarely on his shoulders.Oh, and the Cowboys scored touchdowns on 75% of their four trips to the red zone in New Jersey, so that was one more way things were rather different for the offense. Maybe this was just Linehan deciding he had to do something different. Perhaps he was trying to ensure he kept his job. Well, here’s a tantalizing tidbit.Even if Linehan was still calling plays (which it did appear was the case), if it was indeed Garrett’s game plan, that is a potentially huge signal. It would reflect at least a loss of confidence in the former’s ability to make that kind of adjustment. It could be the first step in moving away from Linehan. That does not make it a done deal. Linehan may get in line with a new direction. Or Garrett may just keep a bigger role in the game-planning while still relying on Linehan to call the plays during games. There is also a question about just where the impetus originated for such a move. Did Garrett do it on his own, or did someone (cough) Jerry Jones (cough) lay down a little law here? That is something that may never be known, but it might - might - be a strong hint of the direction things might be headed after the postseason does end for Dallas.Clearly, this is all circumstantial evidence. But while a successful run (meaning at least winning Saturday’s wild-card game) might extend both Garrett’s and Linehan’s tenures, it also could signal that Linehan’s star is finally fading beyond redemption. One other thing is how this all will affect Prescott’s future. He is the quarterback, and there is absolutely no indication that the team is even considering another path. But that Giants performance was a major demonstration of just what he might be capable of. Better coaching that more fully utilizes his strengths and helps cover for his weaknesses would pay major dividends for the team. It looks like he may be getting just that when the Cowboys can really use it entering the playoffs. We still have to see how that all plays out. But that handwriting may be showing up on the wall for Linehan. Wholesale NFL Jerseys

The Arizona Cardinals cut quarterback Sam Bradford on Saturday afternoon Womens Jason Croom Jersey , just months after signing as a free agent with the club back in March. As fans of the Buffalo Bills, we are contractually obligated to consider any big name quarterback that is released as a potential bridge/stopgap/veteran presence for the team’s lowly quarterback situation.Just in case you have been out of the loop for the past few weeks, the Bills could use some help at quarterback. Josh Allen is still out with an arm injury, and no timetable has been provided for his return. Derek Anderson is in the concussion protocol after unsespectedly being named the starter against the New England Patriots. Nathan Peterman is starting against the Chicago Bears, and Matt Barkley will serve as his back-up after signing earlier this week. Now that everyone is up to speed, you can understand why fans may be interested in Bradford. Many thought Bradford would have been an option for the Bills during the 2018 offseason, as a veteran quarterback that could serve as a bridge quarterback for a rookie that would be drafted. Some rumors connected Bradford with the Bills, but he ultimately signed with the Cardinals to fill a similar role. Bradford was benched midway through Week 3 in favor of Josh Rosen, and now finds himself available through waivers this week. With Bradford now available, do you think this is someone the Bills should sign to help at quarterback? It would cost $2.35 million plus $312 ,500 for every game he is active, up to a total of $4.85 million. In the waiver wire order, Buffalo stands a good chance of adding Bradford if they want him. The New York Giants already have their veteran QB and the Cardinals just released him. That leaves the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers as the only teams currently ahead of the Bills in the waiver order.Vote in the poll available below, and be sure to leave your comments below.2019 NFL Draft: college football Week 5 recap features a WR/RB hybrid and a quick-twitch DT The most exciting moments in college football are when underdogs unexpectedly put up a fight against a more talented opponent. The difference in talent between two given college teams can be so vast that when lower-ranked teams put up a good fight against their more highly-ranked brethren, it can seem like a victory. Several ranked teams were feeling the heat this past Saturday, as No. 12 West Virginia had to be bailed out by a clutch interception to close out No. 25 Texas Tech, No. 3 Clemson lost their quarterback to a concussion and just barely escaped Syracuse, and No. 4 Ohio State needed a furious fourth quarter comeback to hold off No. 9 Penn State. Below are the prospects that stood out during week 5.QB Ryan Finley (NC State)One of the most accurate quarterbacks in college football, Finley spread the ball around to eight different receivers in the game against Virginia. Efficient and methodical, Finley attacked the Cavalier defense with an array of short and intermediate timing throws. Most notable was the trust Finley seems to put in his receivers Authentic Tremaine Edmunds Jersey , as several of his throws were into tight coverage, but the receivers always managed to out-compete the defender.DE Zach Allen (Boston College)Boston College survived a scare against Temple because the Owls could not avoid Allen. Temple’s game plan was full of quick passes and runs up the middle, clearly hoping to limit Allen’s pass rush opportunities. Unfortunately for the Owls, Allen could not be denied for long and managed to finish with 8 tackles, 2 sacks, 4 tackles-for-loss as well as a forced fumble. The big defensive end relies on his strength at the point of attack, but his speed around the edge is surprisingly quick.CB Keith Washington (West Virginia)Texas Tech wasn’t afraid to attack Washington and, in the first quarter, that strategy paid off thanks to a perfect touchdown throw from quarterback Alan Bowman. However, Washington made Tech pay in the fourth quarter with a game-sealing pick-six. In a Tampa-2 look Authentic Kelvin Benjamin Jersey , the junior dropped into a short zone, read the quarterback, got into the passing lane and scampered fifty yards into the end zone. WR Olamide Zaccheaus (Virginia)Although Virginia ultimately came up short against NC State, one of the positives from the game was the play of Zaccheaus. The speedy 5’8”, 190-pound senior is used in a variety of ways by the Cavaliers, and led the team in receiving and rushing with 139 yards in the air and 39 yards on the ground. Although officially listed as a running back, what was most impressive was Zaccheaus’ ability to completely fool cornerbacks with his route-running, which has improved by leaps and bounds. OG Bunchy Stallings (Kentucky)Benny Snell and the Kentucky Wildcats running game have been on a tear the last few games, and that’s mostly thanks to Stalling’s work in the interior. Against South Carolina, the senior paved the way for a rushing attack that finished with 195 yards on the ground. In pass protection Womens LeSean McCoy Jersey , Stallings tended to give up ground but usually managed to recover and re-anchor. He’ll be one to watch as the season progresses.DT Jerry Tillery (Notre Dame)Number 99 had himself a day against Stanford. It was a complete game for the senior, who seemed to be getting pressure on quarterback AJ Costello just about every time he dropped back to pass. Tillery demonstrated some elite-level speed and hand-usage, finishing with 4 sacks, 4 tackles-for-loss and fourth quarter forced fumble. Tillery, defensive tackle, now leads the nation in sacks with seven.

With safeties Micah Hyde and Rafael Bush not practicing all week and likely out for the game on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans , the Buffalo Bills have made a roster move to shore up the position by adding Dean Marlowe from the practice squad. Marlowe was working with the first-team defense in practice this week with Hyde and Bush sidelined. After Jordan Poyer, the Bills only had rookie Siran Neal on the roster at the position. Neal played two snaps against the Green Bay Packers in Week 3 and will likely be the backup this Sunday. Marlowe played five games for the Panthers in 2015 and 2016 when Bills head coach Sean McDermott was the defensive coordinator in Carolina. He was released during final cuts this year and immediately signed to the practice squad. He was also on the practice squad last year.To add Marlowe to the roster, the team released tight end Khari Lee. Lee played in ten games for the Bills over the last two seasons and while he was frequently inactive, he had never been released by Buffalo before. He has one catch for five yards this year. Buffalo will roll with Charles Clay (also on the injury report this week), Jason Croom , and Logan Thomas as the tight end position. The off-season has officially begun after the New England Patriots added another Super Bowl to their trophy case. However, the good news is that we can start looking forward to and talking about next season. That begins this week on the AFC East Roundup where we break down the biggest question that each team should likely be asking heading into the 2019 season.Buffalo Bills: How will they spend the money? The Bills will head into free agency with the fourth-most cap space in the league and being one of five teams to have over $70,000,000 to use. The question becomes how will they spend it, because there are gaps on both sides of the ball. The offensive line needs to be improved to give Josh Allen more time in his sophomore season. He also needs a true number-one receiver to throw the ball to. This question also relates to the draft because the way they spend their money will determine their strategy heading into the draft. It is a lot of money for sure , but Brandon Beane has to be careful to spend it wisely or else it will be wasted.New York Jets: Will they respond to Adam Gase? The Jets hired Gase as their head coach after he was fired by Miami so it’s up to him to change this team. Gase was hit or miss in Miami, missing the playoffs this season after making it the season before. He received criticism in Miami for his culture, trading Jarvis Landry and Jay Ajayi—the two best players on the team. If the Jets are willing to buy in, this team could have a turnaround and Sam Darnold will have a successful sophomore campaign. Miami Dolphins: Who will be their quarterback? The quarterback situation in Miami will be one to monitor all season because of the confusion over who will be under center. There have been multiple reports stating the team will part ways with Ryan Tannehill, which means the starting spot will be up for grabs. To go along with those reports , it has also been said that the team is hopeful to grab one of the top quarterbacks in the 2020 draft, but to do so will involve losing a lot of games next season. Does that mean Brock Osweiler will take over the job or will the team go after a veteran like Joe Flacco to control the offense?New England Patriots: Will Father Time show himself?Everything is great for the Pats right now after that Super Bowl title, but things may change depending on how the off-season goes. The team is not getting any younger, especially the core people involved in this dynasty run. Rob Gronkowski is reportedly going to consider retirement once again after battling through nagging injuries during the 2018 season. Tom Brady isn’t getting any younger and neither is Bill Belichick. It would certainly shake up the team if even one of them decided to call it a career, but only time will tell.

No team has booked a spot in the postseason yet Womens Customized Los Angeles Rams Jerseys , but there could be three teams making plans for the playoffs by the time Week 13 comes to an end.The NFL has released this week’s playoff scenarios and it shows that two of those teams could also wind up locking up division titles. The Saints will have the NFC South crown with a win and a Panthers loss or tie or a tie and a Panthers loss. The Rams had a chance to clinch the NFC West during their bye week, but the Seahawks’ win against the Panthers meant they had to wait. A Rams win, a Seahawks loss or ties in both of their games to win their second straight divisional championship. The Rams have several scenarios that involve clinching a playoff berth while tying the Lions, but a win or a Seattle loss remains the most likely way for them to book passage to the postseason before Week 14.The Saints will be in the playoffs with a win. There are other scenarios that get them in if they tie the Cowboys, but none if they should lose in Dallas on Thursday night.Over in the AFC, the Chiefs are the only team in position to clinch a playoff berth. For that to happen they will need to beat the Raiders and get a fair amount of help from other results around the AFC. Those scenarios are listed below:1) MIA loss or tie + IND loss + HOU loss + TEN loss or tie2) MIA loss or tie + IND loss + HOU loss or tie + BAL loss or tie + CIN loss or tie3) MIA loss or tie + IND loss + HOU loss or tie + BAL loss + LAC loss THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — Nearly everything has gone according to plan for Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay and his offense over the past two seasons.Coming off the Rams’ worst offensive performance of his tenure, a 15-6 loss at the Chicago Bears on Sunday, McVay is looking forward to seeing how his team responds in another prime-time game against the Philadelphia Eagles.“These are great opportunities to really be what you say ,” McVay said Monday night. “It’s easy to always talk about those things when things go well, but when you truly get tested or when you go through real setbacks and small adversities and how you handle that often defines what kind of team that you are and what kind of leader you are, and we certainly expect to respond the right way as a team.”McVay didn’t have much new to say after reviewing the film and reflecting on a game in which the Rams had 214 yards, gained 3.5 yards per play and failed to score a touchdown for the first time with the 32-year-old offensive savant calling plays.Instead, McVay again blamed himself for putting the offense in difficult situations because of his decisions and praised the excellent play of the Bears’ defense. One of the more glaring errors McVay said he made was not getting running back Todd Gurley enough touches. Gurley had 11 carries for 28 yards and three receptions for 30 yards. The 14 touches were his fewest under McVay, and the 58 yards from scrimmage was the third-lowest total for Gurley over the past two seasons.“For us, offensively, certainly when the ball is in Todd’s hands good things happen,” McVay said. “That’s something that in hindsight I certainly wish I would have (made) a lot of different selections yesterday Los Angeles Rams T-Shirt , and those are things I have to learn from too.”The Rams were unable to find a consistent rhythm on offense, which McVay blamed on a lack of success on first down that forced quarterback Jared Goff to have to throw against the Bears’ strong pass rush led by outside linebacker Khalil Mack.Goff was 20 of 44 for 180 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions, but McVay rejected the idea that cold weather was responsible for the poor performance.“To say that it’s as easy to throw it in those conditions, I don’t think would be accurate, but I don’t think that’s the reason why we didn’t play as well offensively,” McVay said. What little good news there was for the offense came with McVay declaring center John Sullivan and left guard Rodger Saffold were able to avoid serious injury against Chicago. Sullivan was examined for a concussion, and Saffold hurt his ankle. The Rams (11-2) are still in position to secure a first-round playoff bye. Getting home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs is still a possibility, but the Rams would need the New Orleans Saints to lose another game. The Saints (11-2) hold the tiebreaker because of the Rams’ 45-35 loss at New Orleans in Week 9.McVay said there is no added emphasis on hosting the NFC championship game.“We know that what’s important for us is to even have those conversations and for that to be a potential possibility for us Los Angeles Rams Hats , we’ve got to go take care with what we can control and that’s getting ready for the Philadelphia Eagles and the defending world champs right now,” McVay said. “And that’s exactly what we’re doing.”NOTES: CB Dominique Hatfield is out for the season and will need surgery to repair an ankle injury he sustained against Chicago. … OLB Trevon Young will be signed to the active roster off the practice squad, McVay said. Young, a rookie who was drafted in the sixth round, has played in two games.

ARLINGTON , Texas (AP) — Rangers center fielder Delino DeShields has been placed on the disabled list with post-concussion syndrome more than three weeks after banging the back of his head when trying to make a sliding catch. The Rangers announced the move Saturday, a day after DeShields was scratched from the starting lineup because of headaches and placed on MLB’s seven-day concussion DL. The earliest he could return is next Friday. DeShields hit his head in the sixth inning of a game at Boston on July 11. He was in then in concussion protocol but was back in the lineup when the Rangers played their next game two days later.Manager Jeff Banister said Saturday that DeShields indicated his neck was hurting more than anything else then, and that the outfielder had “passed all impact testing pretty quickly” then.Banister said DeShields hadn’t complained of any headaches until Friday.Texas recalled outfielder/infielder Drew Robinson from Triple-A Round Rock. The biggest mystery in Major League Baseball ahead of the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline is the status of Tampa Bay Rays starting pitcher Chris Archer. The interest around the 29-year-old is intensifying by the hour, but there's no guarantee a deal will get done due to Tampa Bay's high asking price.Zack Wheeler and the New York Mets could be in a similar situation as Tuesday's deadline approaches, as the National League East bottom feeders attempt to get as much as they can in exchange for the 28-year-old.In addition to Archer and Wheeler, there are a handful of relief pitchers still on the market who could help contending teams, while most of the marquee position players on the trade market have been dealt.Below is a look at the latest buzz surrounding Archer, Wheeler and others. Handful Of Teams Chasing Archer Despite UncertaintyThe teams interested in Archer are taking quite the gamble as the time to close deals dwindles.Although there's no guarantee Archer is completely available on the trade market, Atlanta Kenley Jansen Jersey , San Diego, the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers are showing serious interest, per Marc Topkin of theTampa Bay Times.According to Topkin, St. Louis and Pittsburgh are among a group of close to 12 teams that have expressed some type of interest in Archer, but the Braves, Padres and Yankees have the best chances to land the starting pitcher because of their deep farm systems. In preparation for a potential deal, the Rays scouted Yankees top prospect Justus Sheffield Saturday, but according to Joel Sherman of theNew York Post, they have a slim chance of bringing in another player from American League East rival:Joel Sherman Joelsherman1#Rays have 2 scouts watching Justus Sheffield tonight , but 1 is regular coverage. Still hearing that it is a long shot #Yankees end up with Archer. They are monitoring. But #Padres and others are pursuing in stronger way. Remains uncertain if Archer will even be moved. If the Padres were involved in a pennant race, it would make sense for them to go all in for Archer by sending some of their top prospects to the Rays. However, that isn't the case at the moment, and any potential deal between Tampa Bay and San Diego would have the Padres' long-term future in mind since Archer is under team control until 2021.The Braves and Yankees would be ideal destinations for Archer, but the Yankees might have to pay a higher price because the Rays would be dealing with a divisional foe and would still have to face Archer. If the teams in the mix for Archer aren't willing to pay a hefty price, the market could develop more in the offseason when teams with less urgency to win pop into the picture.Even though Tuesday's deadline is on the horizon, no one is quite sure of Tampa Bay's intentions, which could lead to plenty of drama as time ticks down Tuesday afternoon. Mets Setting High Price For WheelerThe Mets have been in a peculiar position over the last weeks, as they've been willing to trade some players but have been more stingy with others.Given the recent success of Wheeler Enrique Hernandez Jersey , the Mets are hiking up the price, which has led to no significant offers, per Fancred's Jon Heyman:Joel Sherman Joelsherman1#Rays have 2 scouts watching Justus Sheffield tonight, but 1 is regular coverage. Still hearing that it is a long shot #Yankees end up with Archer. They are monitoring. But #Padres and others are pursuing in stronger way. Remains uncertain if Archer will even be moved. If a deal involving Wheeler occurs, it will produce a much larger haul than the recent trades of Jeurys Familia to Oakland and Asdrubal Cabrera to Philadelphia. If a team prises Wheeler away from the Big Apple, it will receive a starter coming off two of his best starts of the season. Two days before the All-Star break, Wheeler gave upfour earned runs in 7.2 innings of work against the Washington Nationals.Wheeler improved on those numbers July 24, as he tossed seven innings against the Padres in which he let up four hits and two earned runs. You can't blame the Mets for setting Wheeler's price high because of his last two starts and the demand for starters on the trade market. At this point in time, a deal doesn't look like it will get done , but a desperate contender could always come in with an offer the Mets can't refuse.Contenders Talking to Rangers About KelaTexas Rangers closer Keone Kela could be the next reliever to be dealt. The Dodgers and Braves, both of whom are in search of bullpen upgrades, are at the forefront of the discussions regarding Kela, per's T.R. Sullivan. With 24 saves in 38 appearances, a 3.44 ERA and 1.145 WHIP, Kela could produce a nice return of prospects for the Rangers while improving the late-inning pitching of the team he ends up with.Brandon Wade/Associated PressThe Dodgers made the first splash of the July trade market by bringing in Manny Machado from Baltimore, but they still need to provide Kenley Jensen with help in the latter innings of games.Kela is one of a few relievers who could be an ideal fit for the Dodgers, but in order to bring the 25-year-old over to the National League, they might have to give up more young players than they want.Atlanta isn't in desperate need of a reliever after acquiring Jonny Venters from Tampa Bay and Brad Brach from Baltimore Logan Forsythe Jersey , but you can never have too many power arms in the bullpen. How much the Braves chase after Kela could be determined by their interest in Archer and other players in positions of need.If the Braves back away in an attempt to improve another facet of their roster, the Dodgers could be in prime position to swoop up Kela.Follow Joe on Twitter, JTansey90Statistics obtained from Baseball Reference

The Atlanta Braves want more money from the taxpayers of Cobb County.Faith Abubey and Lindsey Basye of 11Alive in Atlanta reported the Braves asked for $4.6 million in addition to what they have already received. Abubey and Basye noted Cobb County has paid almost $400 million for SunTrust Park and that community leaders voted in 2017 to contribute an additional $14 million for transportation and infrastructure. The $4.6 million would be used to balance the transportation improvement fund Juan Lagares Jersey , refund the building permit fee, refund project management costs and cover legal fees.According to Abubey and Basye, the county called the Braves' tone in their letter asking for additional funds "improper and unprofessional."The two sides are in meditation after having entered a 30-year public-private agreement to build and fund the $600 million stadium. The 2017 season marked the first at SunTrust Park. The Braves finished in third place in the National League East and were 37-44 at home. This season, they are in first place and 37-34 at home.It appears as if SunTrust Park will host its first MLB playoff game this year while the financial fight continues between the Braves and Cobb County. NEW YORK — For the past two weeks, Gleyber Torres has played shortstop for the New York Yankees.Torres is filling in there and hitting well of late while Didi Gregorius recovers from a left heel contusion. On Sunday, it is possible that Torres slides back over to second base when the Yankees conclude a four-game series with the Detroit Tigers.Article continues below ...The Yankees can move Torres back to second base after obtaining Adeiny Hechavaria on Friday from the Pittsburgh Pirates just before the deadline for players to become eligible for the postseason.Regardless of where Torres is playing, the Yankees hope he continues his recent roll. On Friday, he hit the go-ahead two-run bases-loaded single in the eighth inning of a 7-5 win and a day later hit the go-ahead two-run homer in a 2-1 victory.Torres struggled initially in his return from the disabled list with a hip injury but has turned it on of late. He slugged his 22nd homer Saturday , giving him home runs in four of his last nine games.Torres also is batting .420 with four homers and 11 RBIs in his last 14 games since Aug. 18. The hot streak has seen his batting average climb from to .259 to .282.“He’s impacted our club in a profound way on both sides of the ball all year,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said.Sunday will mark two weeks since Gregorius was injured in a collision at first base with Toronto’s Kendry Morales. While Gregorius is making progress, general manager Brian Cashman said he believes next weekend’s series in Seattle is more realistic for his return. That’s where Hechavaria comes in. Regarded as a defensive whiz with some pop, the Yankees hopes he adds to their depth much like Andrew McCutchen whenever Aaron Judge returns from a broken right wrist.“It was a big surprise for me,” Hechavarria said through an interpreter. “When I got the news, it was about 12:30 at night, so I was not really waiting for anything like that. So it was a big surprise for me.”McCutchen went 0-for-3 and batted out of the leadoff spot after joining the Yankees in a trade with San Francisco. He went unclaimed through waivers last week, but the Giants won five of six after splitting a four-game series with the Mets and were hesitant to move him until Friday.“I didn’t have the game I wanted to have personally Noah Syndergaard Jersey , the first one, but we got the win and that’s what’s most important,” McCutchen said. “But yeah, all around it was a good day and it’s a day I’m not going to forget, for sure.”With more of a complete lineup and Gary Sanchez back from a second disabled list stint, the Yankees will attempt to make it 12 wins in 16 games and conclude a stretch of playing mostly losing teams before heading to Oakland for a three-game series Monday.Detroit, meanwhile, will try to get the big win that has eluded its offense since Victor Martinez and Niko Goodrum homered in the ninth inning off Dellin Betances in Thursday’s 8-7 win.The Tigers went 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position Saturday and are 5-for-20 in those situations in the last two games. Victor Martinez drove in the lone run with a sacrifice fly as Detroit fell for the seventh time in eight games.“We had high-anxiety at-bats ,” Detroit manager Ron Gardenhire said. “You’ve still got to stay within yourself. Hit a ball up the middle — or shoot a ball the other way.”Although Detroit has continued to lose, it seems their last two losses are better than the five that preceded this series. The Tigers entered with a five-game losing streak where they were outscored 34-10.“I just know they have a lot of good players and they’re in the race with the Red Sox,” Detroit right fielder Nicholas Castellanos said. “Every single game that we’ve played against them, we’ve been in it and we’ve been one scenario away either or to be 3-0 against them.”Lance Lynn (8-9, 4.84 ERA) will make his sixth start and seventh appearance for the Yankees. So far, he is 1-1 with a 3.98 ERA since being acquired from Minnesota on July 30.Lynn last pitched in Tuesday’s 5-4 victory over the Chicago White Sox, when he allowed three runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings before the Yankees won it in the ninth on a homer by Neil Walker. The right-hander is 2-2 with a 3.16 ERA in four career starts against Detroit.Matthew Boyd (8-12, 4.22 ERA) will be the third left-hander to start for Detroit in this series after Francisco Liriano opened the series and Daniel Norris pitched Saturday. From June 19 to July 20 Michael Conforto Jersey , Boyd was 0-5 with an 8.36 ERA in six starts. He is 4-3 with a 3.30 ERA in five outings since.Boyd’s last outing was the worst of his recent showings as he allowed five runs and seven hits in six innings of Tuesday’s 6-2 loss at Kansas City. It also continued his struggles on the road where he is 2-9 with a 5.75 ERA in 14 starts.“He’s had some good ones and a couple of where he ends up throwing a lot of pitches,” Gardenhire said. “He’s just kind of when he gets in (trouble) he starts shaking his head a lot, overthinking things, that’s what gets him into trouble When he pitches off his fastball, like most pitches he does pretty good.”Boyd is 0-2 with a 9.35 ERA in two career starts against the Yankees and is making his first career appearance at Yankee Stadium.

LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Dodgers‘ curious starting pitching decision to open the National League Division Series suddenly looks like a load of trouble for the Atlanta Braves.Clayton Kershaw Whitey Herzog Jersey , who did not start Game 1 on Thursday despite being on regular rest, is scheduled to start Game 2 on Friday at Dodger Stadium, one day after Hyun-Jin Ryu set the tone with seven strong innings in a 6-0 victory over the Braves. It remains very early in the 2018 postseason, but the Dodgers’ decision to be less reliant on Kershaw for October glory already seems to be paying dividends.Article continues below ...And even though Kershaw is less overpowering than he has been in the past, with a strikeout total lower than his innings pitched for the first time since 2013, he has been a handful when getting an extra day of rest like he will have Friday. When the left-hander gets five days of rest or more this season, he has a 2.48 ERA and 9.2 strikeouts per inning. On a regular four days of rest, he has a 3.21 ERA and 7.6 strikeouts per nine innings.Kershaw (9-5, 2.73 ERA), who said he accepts the Dodgers’ pitching decision, downplayed the concept that he will have extra incentive this postseason because he was not named the Game 1 starter.“I don’t really need to prove myself to anybody ,” Kershaw said. “I think I just … I want my teammates to want me out there. I think that’s the biggest thing. Hyun-Jin has had a great season and he’s pitched really well for us … and I’ll get my turn (Friday).”Tasked with matching Kershaw pitch for pitch is Braves right-hander Anibal Sanchez (7-6, 2.83), who has given up two earned runs or fewer in six of his last seven starts, including six scoreless innings in his regular-season finale Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies.Friday’s outing will be Sanchez’s first in the postseason since 2014 with the Detroit Tigers. In seven postseason appearances, he is 2-4 with a 2.79 ERA.It is the Dodgers hitters that Sanchez said he is most concerned with facing, not pitching against Kershaw.“You know what, most of the time I don’t think too much about the pitchers that I’m going to face,” Sanchez said. “I just try to keep my mind on the hitters that I’m going to face against the Dodgers. I think they got a pretty good lineup. It’s no doubt how good Kershaw is and what he’s been doing for his whole career. But at the end, I don’t want to put that impression in my mind.”In Game 1 of the series, the Dodgers looked similar to what they have been all season. They hit three home runs in Game 1 after a season when they hit a club-record and NL-most 235. Two of the home runs came from left-handed hitters Joc Pederson and Max Muncy. The Dodgers also led the NL in walks this season and earned eight free passes Thursday. The Braves outhit the Dodgers 6-5 in Game 1, but were never in the contest. Now Sanchez has to face the Dodgers’ lefty-heavy lineup in Game 2. DENVER (AP) — Miles Mikolas had some pitches he’d rather have back. His swing was a keeper.Mikolas and Tyler O’Neill each homered and the St. Louis Cardinals leaned on their bullpen to withstand a Colorado rally and beat the Rockies 7-5 Friday night for their fourth straight win.O’Neill also had an RBI double and Kolten Wong added three hits and a sacrifice fly for the Cardinals in a game between teams in the thick of their respective division races and running 1-2 in the NL wild-card race. It was also St. Louis’ ninth win in a row on the road.“(Mikolas) hit one earlier in the year and we knew he was going to probably run into another one at some point Orlando Cepeda Jersey ,” said Bud Norris, who got three outs for his 27th save, capping 4 1/3 innings of scoreless relief by the Cardinals’ bullpen. “Obviously, that swing helped us win a ball game and definitely was doing your part on the offensive side, too.”The Rockies pulled within two runs with a five-run fifth that featured a two-run drive by Charlie Blackmon and a solo shot by Nolan Arenado, both off Mikolas, who helped St. Louis take a 7-0 lead by hitting a two-run homer as part of a four-run second.Mikolas had stranded five base runners over the first four innings but could not get out of the fifth. He was relieved by Chasen Shreve after Carlos Gonzalez scored from third on Ian Desmond’s fielder’s choice and Ryan McMahon hit a two-out RBI single that drove in Desmond, who had reached third on second baseman Wong’s throwing error.“They got hold of two bad breaking balls, but other than that, I thought all the other contact that inning was pretty soft, a couple bloopers , seeing-eye singles stuff, like that,” Mikolas said. “I’ll beat myself up over those breaking balls but other than that they got a couple of hits that weren’t so good.”Besides, he can take some solace in the difference his home run made in the game.“I’ve got the juice right now for our pitching staff, so that’s nice. That’s something that will help me go to bed tonight,” said Mikolas, also tipping his cap to the bullpen for picking him up.Carlos Martinez (7-6) picked up the victory with 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief.Norris gave up a two-out double to Ryan McMahon and walked pinch-hitter Chris Iannetta before retiring D.J. LeMahieu on a fielder’s choice for the final out.“The game got ugly earlier, but we didn’t give up,” Gonzalez said. “We put some runs (up). We scored five that inning to put us back in the game. But they also pitched well. Their bullpen came in and shut us down.”Leading off the second, O’Neill drove a 1-2 offering from Antonio Senzatela (4-4) deep into the left-field bleachers for his fifth home run of the season, marking the 16th straight game in which the Cardinals homered. The streak is the longest since St. Louis connected in a club-record 25 straight games in 2016.Jedd Gyorko worked a one-out walk and Wong singled before Senzatela struck out Harrison Bader. But after Gyorko scored from third on a passed ball Bob Gibson Jersey , Mikolas homered over the wall in straightaway center for his second of the season. The right-hander also homered for his first big league hit April 2 at Milwaukee.“He got the ball up and they made him pay,” Rockies manager Bud Black said of Senzatela. “He didn’t really have any consistent secondary pitches tonight. Probably too many mistakes and just really couldn’t string any pitches together all night.”The Cardinals added three runs in the fifth, moving out to a 7-0 lead on run-scoring doubles by Gyorko and O’Neill and a sacrifice fly by Wong.TRAINER’S ROOMCardinals: RHP Michael Wacha threw 3 2/3 scoreless innings Thursday night in his second rehab start for Class A Palm Beach against Fort Myers. He’s expected to throw a bullpen session Sunday before making a third rehab start on Tuesday, most likely at Class AA Springfield. Wacha went on the 10-day disabled list June 21 with a left oblique strain. “He’s in the conversation to come back and pitch in early September but what day that looks like — he’s not there yet,” interim manager Mike Shildt said.UP NEXTCardinals: RHP John Gant (5-5, 3.76 ERA) has posted a 2.30 ERA over his last three starts spanning 15 2/3 innings. He is making his first career appearance against the Rockies.Rockies: RHP German Marquez (11-9, 4.42 ERA) is set to make his third career start against the Cardinals but first in more than a year. He won his previous outings against St. Louis, both at Coors Field, going 2-0 with a 2.53 ERA over a combined 10 2/3 innings.

Earlier today Youth Byron Jones Jersey , the Cleveland Browns fired head coach Hue Jackson and offensive coordinator Todd Haley. With a head coaching job now available in the NFL, Oklahoma Sooners coach Lincoln Riley was asked about his interest in the NFL. His connection to Baker Mayfield made the question something that was bound to come up. As you may expect, a college coach in the middle of the season, especially one fighting for a possible national title, would immediately declare he is not interested. After all, you still got some games to go and you don’t want any distractions at the end of the schedule and into a possible playoff situation. But Lincoln Riley didn’t exactly shoot it down forever, just for right now.So why does this relate to the Cowboys? Well, in truth, it only does through conjecture and speculation. Jason Garrett, even though he has gotten votes of confidence from the Joneses, could be coaching for his job. It’s fair to say that much of Cowboys Nation is reaching the end of their patience with the current regime and if the 2018 season doesn’t play out right, the clamor for a new head coach will be loud. So loud that the Joneses may not be able to resist it. It’s also no secret that many fans have their eye on Lincoln Riley if there is a coaching change. Riley is young but his team’s in Oklahoma are offensive juggernauts and with the mixing of college concepts into the pro game increasing every year, Jerry Jones may remember fondly another college coach he once plucked for the pro game, Jimmy Johnson.Oddsmakers have listed Riley among the favorites to replace Garrett if it comes to that in the offseason. A simple Google search with the words Lincoln Riley and Dallas Cowboys brings up a multitude of stories connecting those two. They contain quotes likes this one from Kirk Herbstreit in the offseason.Riley’s comments today make it pretty clear that at some point he would consider the NFL, so it’s worth keeping an eye on as we proceed in the 2018 season. If things start to go south on the Cowboys and Jason Garrett, speculation on changing coaches will only grow. Also, Todd Haley was included in that firing in Cleveland. Haley, of course, was a former wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator in Dallas under Bill Parcells. He’s since had stints as offensive coordinator in Arizona, Pittsburgh and as head coach in Kansas City. People will likely connect him to Dallas in some way this offseason just because of his previous tenure here.Jason Garrett has some time left in this season to secure his future. For all we know, he may not even be on the bubble with Jerry and Stephen Jones. There are so many variables at play. If the Cowboys can somehow make the playoffs the whole question likely becomes moot. But if there is a change, Riley would make an interesting candidate, and while he made it clear he wasn’t interested “right now” it sure sounded like he could be convinced in the future. Maybe a future as soon as this offseason. The coaching carousel is beginning.Dallas Cowboys scouting report: Dissecting the Houston Texans offense Sunday night football. Nothing more fun than kicking back on a Sunday night, turning on the big screen and watching America’s team take on their in-state rival, the Houston Texans. The Cowboys defense had some hiccups last weekend against the Detroit Lions Cheap Demarcus Lawrence Jersey , and as we touched on last week, the Lions win by using play-action and attacking the back end of the secondary. The Texans win in very similar ways, so let’s take a look at what the Cowboys defense can do to stop them.Keep Deshaun Watson in the pocketWhen defending the Houston Texans passing game, the last thing you want to do is allow Deshaun Watson to get outside of the pocket. Watson seems to be much more comfortable throwing the football when on the move or extending plays. This issomething the Cowboys secondary will have to know heading into Sunday night’s game. The last thing Byron Jones, Chidobe Awuzie, and Anthony Brown can do is get caught with their eyes in the backfield when defending DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, and the rookie Keke Coutee.Play - 1: Watson sifting through pressure and delivering a dimeThis is where Watson is at his best. When he gets outside of the pocket, look out. Here he does an excellent job of handling the blitz, breaking a tackle attempt, and delivering a beautiful ball down field to DeAndre Hopkins. With Watson at quarterback, the play doesn’t end until the whistle is blown, do not get caught with eyes in the backfield, or with your guard down.Play - 2: Extending the play with his legsYes, Deshaun Watson can kill you with his arm when extending plays, but he can also kill you with his legs, which makes him really tough to defend. Watson plays the quarterback position very similar to players such as Cam Newton and Alex Smith, in the sense that when the play breaks down, it’s actually just getting started. When applying pressure on Watson, the last thing you want to happen is for him to shake off your tackle attempt, slip outside of the pocket and start his track downfield. On Sunday night, when DeMarcus Lawrence, Tyrone Crawford, Randy Gregory, and others get in the backfield Youth Jaylon Smith Jersey , they need to be sure to wrap-and-roll Watson to finish the sack, without getting called for roughing the passer.Texans lack threat of running the footballThe Texan-tandem of Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue has struggled to get anything going on the ground so far in 2018. Through four weeks, Miller has carried the ball 58 times, for 225 yards, and zero touchdowns. Miller is dealing with a chest injury, and is questionable for the game, but even with his lack of success and injury issues, he is not a guy you can completely ignore. Miller has shown good vision throughout his career, the ability to break tackles, and catch the ball out of the backfield. The Cowboys will likely play the Texans running game similar to the way they played the Lions last week.Play - 1: Miller bouncing it outside for a nice gainYou won’t see Lamar Miller break off big run after big run, but he does have the ability to break off a nice run or two throughout a game. The Texans run a lot of outside/inside zone, and do a lot of creative things with their offensive line to open up holes for Miller to run through. Leighton Vander Esch and Jaylon Smith will need to be on their “A” game on Sunday night, being sure to stay in their gaps as the defensive ends work to set the edge. The Texans run game is the least of Rod Marinelli’s worries on Sunday, but we’ve seen the Cowboys defense struggle with weaker running games in years past.Containing Hopkins, Fuller, Coutee will be key to successThe Houston Texans have one of the best wide receiver trio’s in the NFL with DeAndre Hopkins, Will Fuller, and rookie Keke Coutee. Through four weeks, Hopkins already has 30 receptions, 443 yards, and two touchdowns on the season. Hopkins is one of the top three wide receivers in the NFL. HIs partner on the other side of the field isn’t to shabby either. Will Fuller always puts up pretty ridiculous numbers, but has struggled to stay healthy throughout his young career. A name you may not be familiar with, but need to be, is rookie wide receiver Keke Coutee. Coutee was one of my favorite mid-round receivers coming out of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. Coutee is a good route runner, with great speed and the ability to track the ball down field with ease.Play -1 : Watson to Fuller deep threat connectThis connection has been fun to watch over the last two seasons. While Hopkins is no doubt the better talent , Will Fuller and Deshaun Watson have built a really great connection over the last two years. Fuller does most of his damage down the field in the vertical passing game showcasing his speed and ability to separate. Fuller is also known for his drops, but while he can help you out by dropping the football, he can also kill you by making plays like the one above throughout an entire game. The Cowboys would be wise to show a safety shade to Fuller’s side of the field to protect the over the top ball to Fuller. The safety play for the Cowboys has been rather suspect over the last two weeks, they will need to play much better this week against a very talented WR group. Play-2: Hopkins becomes an immediate weapon in the red-zoneHopkins is great because he can do it all. Not only does he help get the Texans down the field with his route running, yards after catch, and tough contested catches, but he’s also one of the best red-zone wide receivers in the NFL. The Cowboys do not usually travel corners with star receivers, but it may not be a bad idea to allow Byron Jones to travel with Hopkins when the Texans get inside the red-zone. Byron’s length and athleticism, may matchup well against Hopkins size, and physicality. Play-3: Keke Coutee is a star in the makingIt’s been just one game for Texans 2018 fourth-round pick, but he has already made his mark with the Texans. Coutee can win in a variety of ways; in the slot, outside, and even running the football. He is electric with the ball in his hands due to his 4.43 speed and ability to make a man miss at anytime. Coutee is still the Texans third best receiver, but he’s one that will likely give Anthony Brown, his toughest test of the season so far. Texans offensive line continues to be poorThe Texans have been working to rebuild their offensive line for the last few years using the NFL Draft and free agency. Unfortunately for them, they have still yet to see the results pay off in a positive fashion. The Texans have already began shuffling bodies along the OL looking for any kind of answers they can find. Kendall Lamm was given a promotion to right tackle after second-year tackle Julie’n Davenport has struggled to be productive. Yes.... that noise you hear is DeMarcus Lawrence squealing, waiting to feast yet again. To make matters worse for the Texans, right guard Zach Fulton hasn’t been much better. Things don’t get much better for the left side of the line either for the Texans. Rookie tackle Martinas Rankin has had struggles.Play-1: Texans have struggled to handle ET/TE stunts, something Cowboys have executed wellThe Cowboys are a defense that run a lot of twist, stunts, and other exotic rushes to get their pass rushers home. This is something the Texans have struggled with a lot so far in 2018. With DeMarcus Lawrence lined up as the strong-side defensive end, with either Tyrone Crawford lined up beside him, this combination should give the inexperienced right side of the offensive line fits for the entirety of the game. Lawrence is slated to have another huge game working against a backup RT, and the Cowboys pass rush should be in for a big day if they can get Deshaun Watson to the ground.

With Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne anchoring the defensive line Authentic Ezekiel Elliott Jersey , and Adrian Peterson hardly looking like a 33-year-old, the Washington Redskins have established what sort of team they are. It's quite a drastic shift from who they've been under coach Jay Gruden until now.Their defense stops the run 鈥?gasp! 鈥?and their offense 鈥?get this! 鈥?moves the ball on the ground."It starts up front, in the trenches," Gruden said Monday. "Those big guys are doing a great job."He was talking about Washington's defensive front, but he also might as well have been referring to the offensive line, which is led by left tackle Trent Williams and right guard Brandon Scherff and has been leading the way for Peterson. So bad against the run for so long, the defense is suddenly stout as can be. It limited the NFL's No. 2 rusher, Ezekiel Elliott, to 34 yards 鈥?his second-lowest output in the league 鈥?in the Redskins' 20-17 victory over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Elliott's longest gain was 6 yards. That came a week after the Redskins limited Christian McCaffrey to 20 yards rushing and the entire Carolina team to 81 during a 23-17 win against the Panthers."We're making teams earn every blade of grass they get Womens Joe Looney Jersey ," Gruden said. Now comes another test for Washington, which leads the NFC East: rookie sensation Saquon Barkley and the last-place New York Giants next Sunday. The Redskins are giving up only 87.3 yards on the ground each game, third in the NFL. One key: Washington is one of two clubs to not have allowed a 20-yard run this season. Minnesota is the other."It's as much of a mindset as anything," linebacker Ryan Kerrigan said about stopping Elliott and the Cowboys, who had won four games in a row against the Redskins. "We definitely have taken it personally that they've had so much success running the ball against us the past couple of years."Truly, everyone has.Last season, Washington owned the worst run defense in the NFL, with opponents rushing for 134.1 yards per game. In 2016, it was 24th of 32 clubs at 119.8 per game allowed. And in 2015 , 26th at 122.6 per game allowed. So this season has seen what Gruden called "a major improvement," one he attributed in part to the pair of first-round draft picks out of Alabama, Allen (who missed 11 games as a rookie in 2017 because of an injury) and rookie Payne.Safety D.J. Swearinger nicknamed that duo the Alabama Wall.On the other side of the ball, Gruden has embraced the running game much more than in his previous four seasons as a head coach in Washington. After Peterson's 99 yards on 24 carries against the Cowboys 鈥?the fourth time in six games this season he's topped 95 鈥?the Redskins are third in the league at 29.5 runs per game and 14th at 119 yards per game. Those numbers are way up from the full 2017 season, when the team ended up ranked 24th with 25.1 runs per game and 28th with 90.5 yards per game.Under Gruden, the Redskins have never finished a season averaging more than 26.8 carries or 106 yards per game. They've also never had Peterson, who was available to any team when the Redskins signed him in the preseason."Adrian has been a big lift for us, without a doubt. We are 4-2, and he is big a part of it Womens Byron Jones Jersey ," Gruden said. "So we just have to keep feeding him."Notes: Gruden said that CB Fabian Moreau sprained his ankle and RT Morgan Moses injured his elbow against Dallas. CB Quinton Dunbar, who missed Sunday's game with what the team said was a bruised shin, was going to get checked out to see whether he had a nerve problem. The Dallas Cowboys are an organization that has an incredibly rich history. Men that have suited up for America’s Team are part of an elite fraternity. This is something that BTB’s own Tony Casillas mentions often on The 75O.What many believe to be the greatest Dallas Cowboy of all-time is quarterback Roger Staubach. The Dodger is one of the best players and humans to ever put on the Cowboys uniform. When he speaks, it’s incredibly important. Staubach took to the airwaves of The Dan Patrick Show (which is available on DIRECTV Ch. 239) on Friday to give his thoughts on the Cowboys, Dak Prescott, Jason Garrett, Jerry Jones, and more. Listen to him below. As mentioned Roger covered many topics concerning America’s Team, he even talked briefly about what a different Cowboys quarterback - Troy Aikman - had to say earlier in the week. Overall Roger kept it pretty politically correct as far as the Cowboys are concerned. He supported Dak Prescotted , cited the Cowboys having some injuries, and expressed confidence moving forward. There’s no denying that Dak Prescott is a leader, we’ve seen that a lot through his two and a half years as the Cowboys quarterback. Similarly, there’s no lie in that the Cowboys have faced some injuries (there are a lot for Sunday in Philadelphia), but we’re all tired of hearing that excuse. Other teams find a way to power through injuries, the Cowboys need to as well. What do you make of what Roger Staubach had to say? Do you agree? Do you think he was just playing the role of legend of the franchise? Custom Green Bay Packers Jerseys

The Miami Dolphins shuffle up north to play for-pride in their regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. This is the second consecutive season that the Dolphins will play the Bills in the last game of the regular season when they have already been eliminated from the playoffs. While the Bills needed a win and some help to make the playoffs a year ago Authentic Shaq Lawson Jersey , Buffalo only has draft position and pride to consider this season. With one more week of the regular season to go, it’s possible that your fantasy football league enters its championship finale, as well. If your league is one where Week 17 still counts, this preview is for you. Here are some Dolphins who may drive you crazy as a fan on Sunday, but who also may help you to win your fantasy football league championship.RB Kenyan DrakeAfter watching Buffalo allow 273 rushing yards to the New England Patriots last week, Miami’s running backs must be salivating at this week’s match-up. Drake has elite speed and is a good receiver out of the backfield, and while his overall statistics don’t show it, he’s a top-notch option in the running game. Drake has 917 yards from scrimmage this season (492 rushing, 425 receiving) and nine total touchdowns. If the Bills forget their gap integrity and tackling for a second straight week, he could have a huge game. The Patriots torched Buffalo on runs off the edge Lorenzo Alexander Jersey , and a player with Drake’s speed could do even more damage than New England’s rushers did last week.RB Kalen BallageThe bruising rookie finally had an opportunity to shine two weeks ago, and he did not disappoint. Ballage has been stuck behind Drake and the ageless Frank Gore all year, but with Gore sidelined for the remainder of the season, Ballage set career highs in attempts (12), rushing yards (123), and touchdowns (one) in Miami’s 41-17 blowout loss at the Minnesota Vikings. His disappointing follow-up performance (four carries, ten yards) the following week against the Detroit Lions should be cause for some concern, but if the 6’2” 237-pound back has a chance to run against a battered Bills defense, he could allow the Dolphins to control the tempo of the game on Sunday.WR Kenny StillsThe veteran can operate both inside and outside, but it’s his prowess from the slot that should worry Bills coaches. With Taron Johnson on injured reserve Authentic Kyle Williams Jersey , the Bills have relied on safety Rafael Bush to play the slot corner position. They also have used veteran linebacker Lorenzo Alexander more in coverage, a decision that the Patriots exploited often last week by isolating Julian Edelman on the venerable linebacker. While Alexander is a great football player, there’s no offensive coordinator in the league who would be opposed to him guarding a slot receiver, as it’s a definite mismatch no matter the wideout. If Alexander finds himself in man coverage on receivers again this week, expect that veteran quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be ready to exploit the match-up. Stills is the most likely beneficiary of the match-up among Miami wideouts. FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd is known for his blowhard style on the radio and TV. On Tuesday’s episode of “The Herd” the former ESPN host was tackling the topic of why the New England Patriots are so good and he took aim at the Buffalo Bills, but not in the traditional “New England plays in a bad division” shot.“Manipulate the suckers鈥?I mean, isn’t that what New England’s done for years? You ever notice how often New England trades with Cleveland and Buffalo?” asked Cowherd of his listeners. “Ever notice that? You ever notice they don’t trade with like Philadelphia, the smart teams, very much.”Why bother with facts, right? Here’s the list of Buffalo’s trades with the Patriots since 2002:Buffalo traded a first-round pick for Drew Bledsoe in 2002It’s pretty exhaustive. Phew. Glad that’s over.Ryan Talbot of put together the list of trades the Philadelphia Eagles have made with New England since 2002. There are seven of them. I guess Cowherd must think the Eagles are suckers and the Bills are one of the “smart teams.”Sure , a bunch of former Bills are on the Patriots. Chris Hogan is Just A Guy for them in the wide receiver corps, Ramon Humber plays special teams, and Stephon Gilmore earned All-Pro honors this season after signing a massive contract a few years ago. If anything, Buffalo fleeced the Patriots recently. After the 2016 season, New England signed restricted free agent Mike Gillislee to a deal, forfeiting a fifth-round pick to Buffalo. The Bills used the pick to draft young stud linebacker Matt Milano. Gillislee was released after one miserable season and is out of football. Suckers.

The Buffalo Bills lost to the New England Patriots this past Sunday Womens Customized Buffalo Bills Jerseys , which isn’t exactly anything new. And just like he always does, Tom Brady tore apart the Bills with his arm going 12-for-24, for 126 yards. He had one touchdown through the air and two interceptions. Brady’s 48.3 passer rating was light years ahead of Brian Hoyer’s 39.6. Hoyer attempted one pass in garbage time when Brady was pulled for his safety. If you’re curious, the pass was incomplete. Yep. Good Ol’ Touchdown Tom did it again. I doubt the 273 rushing yards the Patriots had were a major factor. Let’s um, check in on our run-stopping defensive tackle Star Lotulelei. For no particular reason at all. WARNING: Since many people are on vacation, I assumed you all have plenty of time for extra studying this week. Play 1The Patriots immediately double team Star Lotulelei but Corey Thompson necessitates one of the blockers picking him up. Star moves into the lane and knocks the runner over. You’ll see a pattern where the Patriots attempt to negate Lotulelei whenever they see him. As a side note Authentic Josh Allen Jersey , I went a little GIF crazy this week. The breakdown accounts for 11 of Star’s 35 snaps. Play 2The defensive play call has Lotulelei lined up ready to push to the inside. While he could drive to his left off the snap, it’d be awkward. The Patriots look like they’ve prepared for this and the guard actually helps Lotulelei get to where he’s going. Another trend to notice: The Patriots attempted to avoid the middle of the field when they could. There’s a fun table at the end, but the most production came to the edges with plays like this. Play 3Two offensive linemen attack Lotulelei right away. One breaks off to pick up Tremaine Edmunds, but the double team has already been as successful as it needed to be. A nice block (and perhaps a little offensive holding) negate Corey Thompson and it’s off to the races. This was one of the best runs of the day logged as occurring in the middle of the formation. Play 4Two things jump out on this play. The first is noted in the GIF. The Patriots have seemingly planned specifically for Lotulelei. The hand-off pushing out to the side a little with the blocker making a beeline right for Star is suspicious after the linemen let him through. The second thing to notice is how quickly Lotulelei reacts to the hand-off. He’s initially looking to hit Brady, but is starting to change immediately. Play 5Yet again the Patriots are happy to double team Lotulelei, and yet again he’s happy to clog up a ton of room. And again the run is away from Lotulelei’s area. Another nod to his play recognition as Star sheds his blocks and is in the play before the runner can be dropped. Play 6First things first Authentic Tre'Davious White Jersey , he did NOT cross the goal line. With that out of the way, the same trends hold up. The Patriots are nearly refusing to run at Star. For a third time, his play recognition gets him closer to making a play than he has any reason to. Play 7If there’s a question on where Star was during this game, perhaps it should be asked of the coaches. The run-stuffing tackle was in on 47% of plays. The Patriots ran on 65% of their offensive snaps. And Star was in on a handful of passing plays to boot, probably ending with him being on the field for about half the run plays. Here Lotulelei likely impacts the pass as he’s quickly in the backfield. Brady doesn’t seem thrilled by this development. Play 8Very briefly, this is the same trick as before. The pre-snap alignment makes it hard for Lotulelei to move to his right (our left). The Patriots help Lotulelei move in his natural direction and run away from him. One extra note is that Brady took a long time giving directions pre-snap , making at least two tweaks to the play before he was happy. Play 9It wasn’t that the Bills weren’t adjusting to some of what the Patriots were doing. Here an empty backfield should be able to take advantage of the Bills’ run-stuffing line. Tremaine Edmunds communicates an adjustment and Star Lotulelei moves wide to help set up the pass rush. The Bills’ adjustment leads to relatively quick pressure. One bad throw later and Jordan Poyer has it for Buffalo. Play 10This was a rare occasion where the Patriots ran anywhere near Star. With everyone moving, they don’t need to push the Bills back to create a lane. This isn’t Lotulelei’s best play as he loses his balance, but he still manages to get enough push to impact the path of the runner. That slight deviation pushes the ball carrier into Lorenzo Alexander’s man, and the result is a tripped Patriot. Play 11The Bills are looking to shut down a goal-to-go situation and that’s precisely the time for the big men to shine. Lotulelei is predictably double-teamed to start. It’s not enough to move him back and the runner needs to go around, which can be a death knell with the field this compressed. SummaryTo be clear, the above isn’t presented to make the case that Star Lotulelei is playing at an All-Pro level. He is however , playing at a high enough level where the New England Patriots appear to have focused a great deal of attention in avoiding him and accounting for him when that wasn’t possible—and he still made some plays. The data in the table below comes courtesy of Pro Football Reference. There’s a lot to unpack, but the main point for Star is the last row (light blue). The middle section of the field is the area that he would be the main force in locking down. The Patriots were far less successful running up the middle, and Star Lotulelei is a big reason why. ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy has cleared concussion protocol and is expected to play Monday night against the AFC East rival New England Patriots.McCoy was hurt when he landed on his head while being tackled along the sideline on Buffalo's second play from scrimmage in a 37-5 loss at Indianapolis last weekend.McCoy has a team-leading 244 rushing yards and no touchdowns for the Bills (2-5). He ran for 1,138 yards and six touchdowns last season.
